Myself and 4 sister's and brothers were put into foster care in the late 70s, it was pure physical, mental, emotional and sexual abuse. Not one of the many placements were safe. No care, no therapy ( our mother selfishly decided to commit suicide). My grandmother finally got us.

I am so sorry that happened to you. Or anyone. On HS campuses, I've seen many tragic results of foster care. The resilience of human beings is astounding, but comes with a high, high price.

So true, CA CPS is making it extremely impossible for my sister to get her granddaughter out of foster care.

According to feminists studies, white girls are more likely to be put in the foster care system than black or brown girls. While more black and brown girls will grow up in single family homes than white girls. (Due to the war on drugs disenfranchising those communities)

They should make it easier, I agree. However, I must also say that my placement in the foster care system was the 1st time I encountered a clean home, a fridge with food, and loving parents. When I was placed back into my parents home, the abuse, sexual and physical, continued.

I agree family members should be the first to take over care start with grandparents then aunts, uncles even older cousins. Before strangers!
