If every incel somehow got a girlfriend, the net violence in the world would only go up. Because guys who think like this are violent to their girlfriends. It's not their singleness that's dangerous; it's the way they think about women.

Replying to @ScottWesterfeld @SciBry
Is there evidence for this claim? What do we know about the attitudes and behaviours of formerly incel people? I'm wary of generalising across all incel people and of presuming to understand how they think.

I don’t think there’s such a thing as formerly incel. Not for the group he is referencing. They have a hatred for women and/or a sense of entitlement. That doesn’t disappear because someone agreed a relationship. Many serial sex offenders/killers maintain a relationship

As someone studying psychology, you'd know that behaviour is complex and informed by many things. I hesitate to treat this set of self-identified incel men as homogeneous, or to presume we know all their motivations. We need to understand before we can prescribe.

You could go and check them out yourself. I know the incel movement quite well. They share one thing in common. Hatred of women.
