  11. This week I was briefed on hazard reduction burns for 2020. Last year, QPWS completed planned burns for more than 1 million hectares of protected areas - close to double the target and the most since before 2012. I want to acknowledge the incredible work of our rangers.

  19. Our Govt is ensuring the popular Festival can continue at its existing location. Today we passed a motion in Parliament to reclassify about 45 hectares of land to ensure the festival can continue, while also protecting the environment.
