Don’t think I’ve linked to this before: . Would it be possible to have some kind of index that measures the friction associated with getting things done?

I noticed myself sharing ’s founders at work intro over and over: The most productive way of working is unlike what most people think it is. This means, there’s a huge opportunity for you to let go of “best practice” and focus on effectiveness

How many hours of reading about swimming are equal to one in the water? I don't think there's a number. A more interesting question...what do we tend to explore in theory what would be more meaningful through experience?

Speed matters, but stamina matters even more. Go as fast as possible while staying fully recovered. Go fast. Stay fresh.

In the language classroom, I used to do the same thing when teaching pronunciation or other speaking skills. very soft --> very hard, very quiet --> very loud, very short --> very long. Then there's a period of feedback to help reach a nice medium.

Learning by exaggeration — when my cross country coach was teaching us better running form, he asked us to practice swinging each hand up to our mouth as if to feed ourselves while running. This deliberate exaggeration made it easier to reach an optimal medium later on.

Reading Super Thinking by and ; I feel like I'm learning a new language. I've run into a lot of the mental models in passing (and some in more depth), but being able to synthesize them is fantastic. Combining the book with AnkiSRS as a learning experiment.

Question I'm pondering: How do we move from a state of constant mid-level focus/stress to an oscillation between complete relaxation and intense focus?

Huge congrats to for big success at UW Auckland — Actual feedback: "I loved it, I got more done in the 2.5 hours I was actually working than I’d achieved in the previous two days." In AKL? Check it out. Interested in your city? Message me.
