#Henri and#Ida both produced up to ~8" of rain across#NYC, but Ida's flooding was much worse than Henri. Why? Part of it was saturated soil. However, compare the peak hourly rain rates. If 1.75"/h is really the cutoff, comparing peak hourly rates tells the story! Ida >>> Henri https://twitter.com/RogerPielkeJr/status/1433449658139832323 …pic.twitter.com/cwGovialCu

#Larry is forecast by National#Hurricane Center to become a major hurricane tomorrow. If it does, it would be 3rd of Atlantic season to date (Grace & Ida were also majors). 5 years in satellite era (1966 onwards) have had 3 major hurricanes by 9/4: 1969, 1996, 2004, 2005, 2008.pic.twitter.com/FxNbgnNtgvThanks.
