I just was thinking this while interviewing people today!

So I guess don't expect a hand written thank you note either.

I think it can be difficult to take notes and be fully engaged and present in the convo. I used to always prep in my car pre-interview, and scribble down everything the second I was out the door afterwards. But I did always carry my resume, just in case!
-
I could see that for sure. But what if I recommended a good site to look at, or an article to read, phone number to call me back at, OR play tic-tac-toe?!

I carry a padfolio because I don’t like coming empty handed and I have a notepad inside just case. I bring a copy of my resume but I’ve only had to provide it maybe 1/20 times because people generally have it downloaded and printed.

Always be over prepared. I like that.

Do you think it meaningfully impacted their performance? Or is it just an observation of a common thread of participants?
-
Not necessarily, but very interesting observation. I always carry a pen and paper with me regardless of the situation. You never know when you have a good idea. Then again technology has taken a lot of that away.

Hold on. You interviewed people in-person and not on Zoom?
