For a doctor to kill a child in the womb deliberately is sufficient reason for their patients not to trust them.

An embryo is not a child.
-
I am surprised there aren’t more pro-choice allies in the REI community. They live at the intersection of embryo creation & destruction....oh....and storage

-
Why? They’ve always been the most disingenuous colleagues. Trading what they think is legitimacy but doing selective reductions & their own abortions while letting us all suffer under stigma. Someone should work with them & the MFMs to understand we are all in this together.

I agree with this —
@BortolettoMD you’d expect genuine allies in#MFM community as well, but you’d be surprised as how capital F many of them can be, especially in an era of direct attack on the capital M. Bodily autonomy ought to be equally safeguarded in all#ObGyn fellowships -
Issues of
#reproductivechoices — preconception, antepartum, parturient & postpartum periods — should be equally valued, prioritized, & fought for. Stigma in any of these realms are unacceptable; efforts to improve care in these areas need to involve more than physicians#RJ -
A commitment to
#OutcomesOverAgendas necessitates inclusive initiatives between#patients#communities#midwives#doulas#scientists &#physicians. We’re just starting to scratch the surface — the shift in mindset & cultures is just going...#RJ -
And I wouldn’t put them all in one basket. Our Emory Reproductive Ctr does active outreach w the LGBTQ community about family building options, and our MFM team has worked w the Ctr for Repro Rights in cases here in the Southeast

@KristinLyerly I saw this tweet asking for lists of good doctors and and added your name. I now realize I probably didn’t read the thread in its entirety and missed some discussion but I stand by the fact that you’re a great doctor! -
That’s great. There are many great physicians and doctors who do good work. Who aren’t stigmatized by people who need & seek care (abortions, IVF, etc) that others don’t like. Anyone who supports the bodily autonomy and trusts people seeking care are good in my book.

Yes. All of that.
