You know why “prenatal care” is a thing? Because pregnancy risks people’s health and lives. Therefore, if you think prenatal care is health care, then abortion is also health care. It’s not an opinion: it’s fact.

You know what is NOT health care? Coercion. Equally true for statements such as “You must not have an abortion” as it is for statements such as “You must have an abortion.” Unethical and immoral to shame reproductive health care in order to align with personal beliefs.

Apples to apples. Here’s the spectrum of reproductive care: Abortion care | | Prenatal care | | Infertility care Which part of the spectrum is unclear to you?

I get that your rampant self-righteousness is a defense mechanism, but you come across as quite a ghoul when you equate “abortion care” with “pregnancy care.” Having an abortion is the single most horrifying thing I’ve ever done, and I wish I’d known it wasn’t my only option.

It's sad that you regret your abortion, but you are by far in the minority. Abortion is health care. That is a fact that your emotions can't/ won't change.

In what way is it health care? In the vast majority of abortions, both mother and child are healthy.

Is pregnancy a medical condition? Does pregnancy alter physiology and increase risks to poor health outcomes? Has anyone ever had lifelong health sequelae from having been pregnant/given birth? Is prenatal care health care? If you answered “yes,” those are the ways.

Prenatal is so that the mother is ready to have a baby. Abortion is to end it’s life, no matter what the reason. One is caring for life and the other isn’t.

No, it is not. Prenatal care is to monitor the health of the mother and the fetus. And we do that because pregnancy is not risk free.

Monitoring the health of the baby and the fetus is not the same as deciding the risk factor and aborting the fetus and calling it “care”.

Respecting people’s autonomy is “care.” Doing no harm by not forcing someone to continue a pregnancy against their will is “care.” Abortion is health care and follows the basic principle medical ethics. Being against abortion goes against those ethics ➡️ unethical.

No, respecting life is care. The life of both women and babies. If you are pregnant, your “autonomy” is halved. You have your life & the other to consider. While Pregnancy poses risks, there is another life hanging in the balance, so “doing no harm” means not to harm that life.
