    The St. Louis Post-Dispatch says Amendment 3 "deserves a resounding 'no' vote in order to send an unequivocal message to the Legislature to stop trying to circumvent the will of the people." League members want fair maps, not more gerrymandering.

    the politicians pushing A3 may lie to your faces about their gerrymandering plan, but they can’t lie on your ballot.

    Ballot summaries have to be accurate -- it's the LAW. But the politicians who wrote Amendment 3 filled it with inaccuracies and errors, all to distract voters from their real goal: protecting incumbent politicians.

    The League supports Fair Maps and sees Amendment 3 as a real threat to our democracy. It would allow unprecedented racial and political gerrymandering. Is it reform to eliminate lobbyist gifts now capped at $5 and cut contributions to senate candidates by $100?

    If approved, Amendment 3 wouldn’t just repeal big parts of what voters said yes to in 2018. It would also enshrine in the state constitution new rules for drawing legislative districts, along with language that Clean Missouri backers say is unprecedented.

    The League of Women Voters supports the redistricting reforms voters approved in 2018. As Rep. Meredith makes clear, this ballot measure is bad news.

    Yesterday, the Speaker of the House delivered to the governor to sign. I filed a letter of objection in the journal, based on the major constitutional problems with SJR38. You can read the letter here.

    While Missouri’s Legislature should be focused on public health and the budget, it’s pulled together 4 outrageous omnibus bills. HCS SB552 would stop people without a photo ID from voting and block citizens from getting priorities such as Medicaid expansion on the ballot.

    In the middle of a national pandemic, some Jeff City politicians are STILL thinking about pushing their gerrymandering scheme forward. Tell your legislators you want to keep Amendment 1's fair maps and are against SJR38.
