There is zero legitimate research that shows that. In fact after the Republican great recession of 2008 the states that recovered the fastest were states with the highest minimum wages.

Face a little Reality Senator McConnell making less than $15 an hour will not pay your household expenses (which includes mortgage, electric, gas, land taxes). Also people who have children have school and daily expenses. People need to purchase food clothing and travel expenses

I propose, in order to save the government money, All members of Congress, and the President be paid the Federal Minimum Wage. Plus, no taxpayer funded healthcare for them. They can open a health savings account. All the savings will go to the national debt.
