Ouch. The Safari tracking prevention has privacy vulnerabilities allowing worse tracking than what it was trying to prevent. Privacy engineering is *hard*. I wonder how much advance notice Apple was given about this. Seems like a mitigation might take a long time.

I can't speak for Google. I do happen to know what the policies are around this, and the only way I would *ever* expect to see something like this is if: a) it had been quite a number of months and b) there wasn't progress and/or c) high-risk active exploit.
