I do have a question tho.Someone is debating me and saying the finale is bad because it ignores Steven taking responsability for his own mental health, and falls on everyone else to come to the realization and it falls on them for his own mental health. What’s your take on that?
I will die on the hill that Steven doesn't need to forgive the Diamonds. As someone who deals with toxic family members who have hurt me on a regular basis, this is how those relationships work. You remain civil with them because it avoids conflict. Doesn't mean you like them.

He has taken responsibility. His speech at the end of "Everythings Fine" right before he corrupts highlights that. Him being responsible/leaving Beach City was also him taking responsibility. He also mentions he has a therapist. They just helped him when he was having a crisis.

Probably not. I think he can empathize with her, but some of the stuff she did I don't think he could forgive.

So essentially Steven doesn’t need to form a relationship with the Diamonds, but he is learning post-finale how to let go of his corrosive feelings. Forgiveness is almost purely for the self and not for the other in that regard

Exactly. I admire that the Diamonds are working really hard to do better. That said, White also kinda, well... Said it herself in I Am My Monster before Connie effectively told everyone to get over themselves.

Forgive? No. Aknowlage that that they're at least trying to make up for their past deeds? Maybe. In his post Jasper-shattering sadness, he kinda ignored that they where realy trying to be better by reinventing their powers, since he had other issues on his mind.
