BASED John Lennon and Yoko Ono attacking Malthusian thinking: JL: "I think it’s kind of a joke the way people have made this overpopulation thing into a myth. I don’t really believe it. " YO: "I believe the problem is not overpopulation...it's more of a balance of things."

Closing perfectly fine nuclear plants during an energy crisis is reckless, idiotic, and selfish. The gas that will replace the nuclear plant is gas that can't go to developing nations, leading to gas shortages, rolling blackouts, and immiseration.

TIHANGE, BELGIUM Tonight, enough power for one million people, or about a tenth of the population, will be lost. The reason: a nuclear phaseout law passed in 2003 wasn't reversed in time. But now the phaseout isn't even happening: 2 reactors are being extended. An awful waste

The world's most endangered whale is the North Atlantic right whale. Only 340 are left, down from 480 in 2010. Now, 10 new massive offshore wind energy projects could make them extinct. Why are green NGOs siding with the wind industry over the whales?

Nuclear is rising! In response to this announcement the Green party presidential candidate said the country has a moral imperative to end nuclear. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

What the inside of an LNG tanker looks like The spherical vessels inside the tanker are used to contain the liquified natural gas. Sphere vessels are used because they contain no sharp edges, uniformly distributing pressure stress across the vessel

The public health claims about gas stoves are a transparent attempt by environmentalist organizations to make consumers anxious about a highly visible form of fossil fuel consumption. My latest HT

Developing an impulse to try and look up everything in Google Earth was definitely one of the most helpful habits I picked up last year. The energy system is a network, and sometimes a bird's eye view can give you a better sense of some nodes + edges than reading ten long PDFs.

We know the customers of the Garzweiler II lignite coal mine in Germany--the site of recent climate protests--continue to operate precisely because Germany chose to retire nuclear instead of shutting down coal. Supplier-customer links are always instructive.

For the record, if someone paid me to store nuclear waste casks in my backyard, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Nuclear waste is safe!

The best way to help the coal industry is to ban nuclear and fracking

German energy policy in its purest form: Police rolling around in mud attempting to protect a mine that serves almost exactly the same amount of energy (37 TWh in 2022) as Germany is turning off in a few weeks from its world-class nuclear fleet (30TWh).

Why should the US send its precious LNG to rich countries that are needlessly self-sabotaging? We could send the LNG to developing nations like Pakistan and Bangladesh instead. That would save lives.

Belgium gets 50% of its electricity from nuclear. It plans to shut down all remaining nuclear power plants by 2025. Its misguided energy policies guarantee high energy prices, increasing emissions, & reliance on energy imports.

Something to celebrate! Surry Unit 1 connected to the grid 50 years ago today, supplying the Commonwealth with always-on, carbon-free energy for half a century. With stellar performance and a renewed license, Surry will remain the backbone of the grid for decades to come.

Go CANDU! Yall Canada invented a machine that pumps out reliable emissions free electricity and medical isotopes that cure cancer concurrently. And now Canada needs to build more of them!

Canada has the luxury of both its own CANDU #nuclear technology, and an end-to-end supply chain. It’s the perfect combination to maintain and grow the country’s energy security domestically, plus serve as an export leader... #CANDU 🇨🇦 #EC6 #AFCR financialpost.com/sponsored/news
