The Tories have put Party before Country yet again. Risking a leadership contest now is navel gazing. Had she not delayed the vote and then put her deal to the people, this could have been avoided.

It's almost like some Tories are deliberately stirring things from the sidelines while the clock ticks down to a no-deal exit.

Works for me, I actually thought that was May's plan given that every deal has been an utter joke

All it does is distracts attention from the real issue - Brexit. It's a time-wasting ploy which is designed to prevent debate and voting on issues of national importance.

Say it for what it is: time wasting. Running the clock down until it’s too late for anything but crashing out by default. End this!

So the Tories want another vote on the decision they made in 2016. Does that now mean we can have another vote on the referendum ? #PeoplesVoteNow

Really? So you think this is actually good for the Tory party?

Good for the ERG, perhaps. Again & again they’ve shown themselves willing to burn everything the Tory party traditionally cared about: the House of Lords, the Judiciary, the economy, the City, the Queen, Britain’s place in the world: they want Brexit at any price.

Nothing could have avoided this. She isn't wanted by her own party, by the EU or by the UK - she is doing the country no favours at all in hanging around.

Would it though?....she would have lost the vote...and I suspect this would have been the outcome anyway..except she would have the added burden of having her Brexit deal rejected by Parliament..I reckon she went for the lesser of two evils here....

She didn’t choose this. Had her deal been rejected then we could have moved on with Brexit in one way or another. This if lost presses pause. Even if won narrowly she is diminished. Not convinced of all option available this was the right one.
