On the topic of snow, is there a recommended way to deal with the snow/ice buildup in the precipitation receptacle? I've got a multi-sensor jammed with snow. The station reads 0" precipitation but that's definitely not the case as of late.

We recommend trying to mount the sensor in an area that easily accessible for periodic cleaning for snow and/or debris. As these can build up and cause inaccurate wind and rainfall readings.
