    Wichita Events for 1/24 Canceled- The forecast for the KC and Lawrence areas, where most of our staff would be traveling from, calls for 2 - 4 in of snow. For the safety of those traveling, both AIMSWeb testing & the Exploration Place trip in Wichita have been canceled.

    LVS Spelling Bee- On Monday, we had 13 participate in our annual Spelling Bee. All participants did a great job. Our final two battled it out in 10 rounds of words! Congrats and good luck to Damaris L. who will be going on to the Douglas County Spelling Bee on February 1st.

    As we prepare to honor Martin Luther King, Jr next Monday, take a look at these facts about him. ~He was the youngest male to win a Nobel Peace Prize at age 35 in 1964 for his nonviolent campaign against racism. ~He donated the $54,123 Nobel winnings to the Civil Rights movement.
