The alcoholic beverage industry has gotten nearly a free pass, when in fact it is one of the most dangerous products on the market, causing countless injuries (intentional and unintentional), disease, and social/familiar disruption. Agree, need strong civil society to keep watchful eye on food, Pharma, alcohol, tobacco activities; need stronger support for civil society role in poorest countries where these industries are most rapidly expanding, with weak local regulatory frameworks.
