. @WHO has a huge global mandate, yet has 1/5 of CDC's budget. @CDCgov gets about $15 bil annually, while WHO gets about $6 bil over 2 years. On an annual basis, WHO's budget is 1/5 CDC's A single large US teaching hospital has a higher budget than WHO! That's just plain wrong

And this is why @CDCgov thinks they are above recognizing @WHO confirmations. @B1llyTh2K3d @mikalche

What’s wrong is that @WHO skipped “XI” for the Omicron variant to please science. You’re in the business of health and not politics.

@WHO is an irrelevant entity today. They should’ve sent independent teams to China when the virus was first reported, when China was suppressing whistleblowers. Was this because of budget constraints?

No, not budget constraints in that instance (tho it ain't cheap). Just this tricky little concept known as state sovereignty. You know, the thing that govts around the world insist is sacrosanct, so @WHO has to navigate sensitivities to keep govts onside + cooperating. Who knew?

In full support of WHO… imagine that all of the students at your teaching hospital had to unanimously agree on the cost of tuition… I’m guessing their budget would easily be cut to an unsustainable level.
