Exactly. “Having” a vaccine is very different from a widely available vaccine.
I rarely disagree with my dear friend Tony Fauci but think it’s overly optimistic to predict a #COVID19 vaccine by January. Even if we don’t skip vital tests of safety/efficacy there won’t be nearly enough doses for US population let alone globally.

I’m hoping if the US doesn’t another country can come up with a reliable vaccine and produce it efficiently. Our government response to the pandemic has been abysmal. It makes me think any vaccine produced here will be 1st & foremost profit based, & of suspect quality at best

There are efforts going on outside the US and AstraZeneca of the UK has already negotiated supply to the US. Don’t worry, the world knows not to rely on the US any more.

On the heals of the testing debacle, my fear is political pressure to expedite vaccines will reult in an inferior vaccine that either doesn’t work or causes infection.
