I have never understood why publicly funded universal health care for kids wasn't a thing. Seems a no brainer.

Agree. However, it’s both illogical and immoral to stop there. I have never understood why the minute someone turns 19, and from ages 19-65, those same lives are now expendable and not worthy of protection. If kids are the focus: Don’t adults need to stay alive for their kids?

Good first step but aren't we past first steps? Hasn't this pandemic shown how vulnerable our health care system is, based on employment when so many lose their jobs? And dependent on what for-profit insurers are willing to cover or avoid? Single payer covers all, saves money.

Not enough in pandemic times. Eliminate profit from all healthcare, detach healthcare from full time employment, provide free care through telehealth, and all emergency care and follow up for free.

Good, but no. I suspect you may be trying to keep healthcare from every American? Bait & switch? Older citizens need Universal Healthcare more. With that, we are better able to care for our children.

I think we've seen how efforts to modernize healthcare payments in America have fared when we do things by halves (ACA). Working adults in my clinic have to choose between pills, rent, and food. Might be a political winner but its a loser for everyone else.

Yes!
It’s ridiculous that seniors, (the highest use group) pay a fraction of what families pay for kids (a low use group). Actuarily, this is upside down. But then seniors vote... I’m frankly ashamed of my generation for not using our votes to lift up our grandkids.Bedankt, Twitter gebruikt dit om je tijdlijn te verbeteren. Ongedaan makenOngedaan maken

Creates perverse incentives for people to have kids that they can't afford college for; obvious tactic to shoe-horn in "universal college" (i.e. left-wing ideological indoctrination) twenty years hence. No.
