Suddenly w/ #COVID19, everyone's an expert in PH. Plans abound on how to "Get Back to Work." All pundits say testing is the panacea. Not really! Here are the 3 trad PH uses for testing. Any or all 3 are vital tools, but let's be much more precise at what we are calling for. 1X

2) Testing is a vital ph tool used to find confirmed cases, place infectious patients in "isolation," and trace their contacts. Contact investigations are aimed at finding indivs exposed (not not currently #SARSCoV2 positive). Exposed indivds are quarantined for 14 days.

Current testing only finds current #COVID19 cases & its specificity & sensitivity aren't fully understood. We urgently need antibody tests to determine who has had #Covid_19 in the past. If having disease confers immunity, then it's relatively safe for indivs to return to work
6X All the various uses of testing/screening are vital; will teach us a lot about #COVID19 & enable smarter decisions on when & how to return to work. But let's not be naive, testing in itself will not make it fully safe to return to normal. We're likely to have a 2nd & 3rd wave.
5X We need all 3 uses of testing/screening to Get Back to Work.
