It might make things worse. More health professionals will be required to stay home with kids or have elderly watch over. Kids are the least effected population that we know of so far
When should schools close to slow #COVID? My friend @HowardMarkel says early closures are good but how early? In most parts of US, not now, but when? How many community cases are needed before we trigger social distancing? Spring break in Houston and many other places starts today and people are traveling with their kids. The ones staying in town will visit rodeo, museums, parks, zoos. The risk of exposure seems higher than ever. Closing/moving to online classes after spring break seems logical

Northshore School District closed their schools yesterday. https://www.nsd.org/blog/~board/superintendent-blog/post/letter-to-families-all-schools-closed-march-5 … Other districts should read that and act accordingly. Two interesting notes: 1) 20% absenteeism was already present 2) County guidance for those over 60 affected 16% of their staff.

If we were serious about containment, wouldn't we do it now until we had hard data to suggest it was NOT present? As you know, no confirmed cases only means no testing was done and we are very, very late getting started on many levels.
