Mass quarantine couldn’t reasonably be enforced. Americans would not accept harsh social control and intrusive surveillance like that used in China
Mass quarantine would backfire. First rule of ph is to gain trust & cooperation of the public. We want to encourage people to come in for testing and treatment not drive them underground
Thus over-broad coercion is unlawful, unethical, impractical & contrary to good ph.
But US should expect social distancing like temporary school closures or postponing mass gatherings like sporting events, business conventions or political rallies ( and it’s campaign season). We need to prepare
It's not that they wouldnt except it most couldn't afford it!living pay check to pay check..no working means cant pay Bill's or rent.

We carry weapons too
Most also can’t afford to take time off, or would even be given time off if they tried to call in sick....and even more can’t afford to seek treatment. You’re pretty well f’d if your immune system sucks.
Legit, my daughter works in a supermarket, touching EVERY cart, and has had to go to work with the flu on more than one occasion. Because the store won’t give her time off and because she loses her insurance if her hours dip too low in a month. Happy shopping.
