Some others may call this as a prioritisation of resources rather than a emotive "shaming".

At a time like this we have to all row in the same direction. private hospital groups have registered directors of nursing and medical directors to - they need to do the right thing they need to support their country and its people, nobody asking for it to be done for free.

Not sure shame will be a good motivator. Hard to imagine the ethical/human pressure on oncologists, ortho surgeons etc., from patients desperate for treatment.

I've never done any private work and most likely I never will, but I'm deeply uncomfortable with this. But for sure anyone thinking of elective surgery in private sector needs to be explicitly told there is unlikely to be an NHS safety net, and exactly what that might mean.
