He didn't start Tesla---he stole it out from under those who actually did. He's not an official founder. And yes, babies can have his ridiculous ideas and most of them are baby ideas (hyperloop, tunnels, etc.) that won't ever be realized.

Some small tunnels that do little. Every big project has fallen through. It is old ideas that have been around for ages (see Jetsons youtu.be/lhxsD5uA7vs)
and Virgin looks like it is ahead of the game now.

when it goes down, it’s down for several hours to several days. nyc subway broke down several times this year.
when a tesla car goes down (rare, contrary to media coverage), it can be towed easily, resulting in far less downtime.
