Well, no. There are countries that have the death penalty for drug dealers. Ever heard of Duarte in the Philippines? Or the penalties in China or Singapore? I’m not talking harsh penalties for the users, I’m talking about the dealers, especially those cartel related.

Releasing them causes a merry go round. They do drugs again, get arrested again, get released again, do drugs again, and suddenly the merry go round closes and stops after they overdose. The city and DA is failing those struggling with drug addictions.

No, not a crime to be an addict. But they need to be accountable for the crimes they commit to support addiction and for the “quality of life “ situations they impose on others ( feces, needles in the streets). Diabetes is a disease too, but diabetics don’t get to commit crimes
