Except criminals who steal from cars, homes and stores. That doesn’t count as crime and isn’t worth prosecuting

Yes, theft is a serious problem, and we need to find ways for our people to not be so desperate that they resort to stealing. Can we consider that defining someone as a criminal is taking away our ability to see them as human. you could not hate anyone if you knew their story.

Many of the people that are stolen from and victimized may be desperate, too. Sick of seeing this as an excuse. Most theft is to support a drug habit. I will not offer excuses or compassion for that, not if they are harming others.
