For those saying ‘why now,’ this isn’t the 1st time we’ve written about this. Our team has been sharing evidence-based coverage on where #COVID19 risks are higher/lower since early last year, regardless of the patchwork policies in place.

There was also the time I wrote about that need to encourage outdoor activities during the winter months when people typically gather inside. That was back in... August 2020:https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/winter-covid-19-indoors-transmission-1.5681175 …

There’s been too much emphasis on what we can’t do. We need to collectively talk about and focus on the degrees of health psychology and behaviour change possible within the scope of a pandemic and locked down for that matter.

This is a really good point. It’s similar to a barrier that parents run into ... constantly emphasizing what a child shouldn’t do without focusing on what they can.

You’d likely achieve better results. Focus on reducing high risk behaviours while relaxing on lower risk venues, plus vaccinate while staying vigilant. Need to advise the public about what’s safe as well as what’s not safe.

Neighbour has been having visitors in their home more frequently the last few weeks. 2 families (6 people) just last night over for dinner. I have concerns obviously, but public messaging has been so poor & stress so high I can't judge them. This was all predictable & avoidable.

I’m also noticing more rule bending at neighbours and at restaurants near me. I think allowing and even encouraging groups of 4-6 Max outside in parks or yards might help. Take out food and a six pack of beer shared with friends while sitting in nature might be what we all need
