Former state Reps. Melvin Larsen and Daisy Elliott sponsored the state's Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act. According to Whitmer's office, it's the first time a state office building has been named after a Black woman.

Unfortunately, too many selfish people doing stupid things are sending numbers in the wrong direction. Arizona, Texas, and Florida are evidence of what happens when states open too soon. Whitmer will do the smart thing and play it safe. I suspect may close restaurants again.
