I love that Boulder's Growing Gardens throws "unsupervised children" into a list of things that don't belong in the community garden, along with barbed wire, plastic, loud music and unleashed pets. I though this was supposed to be a city-sponsored family supportive space...?

If you're making a claim to doing justice work- particularly climate justice- I encourage you to articulate where the justice is. Lots of folks doing important climate work thats called justice when it isnt & that risks further marginalizing those who need representation the most

Grimes' new album is called "Miss Anthropocene." Does this mean we academics can stop using the term? *I say this as someone who organized a conference panel on the topic under a year ago.

Important read. Green doesn't always = just, and many workers are exploited under the veil of the 'green economy.' "These are the many unaccounted for, or unpaid, labour tasks that are vital to the success of the job of “making nature visible in a way that capital can see it.”"

One of the most badass things about is she is continually campaigning, boots on the ground, all over the state, talking with voters. And she didn't slow down once Hick joined the race, like almost everyone else. You gotta respect that moxie!

Posted a pic of my kid on a strider and people are like, “Where’s her helmet?” She’s 2. She’s walking. She’s moving & being happy. No one asks where her helmet is when she’s on a playground. There’s a line between safetly and being overprotective and Im confident w/ where mine is

Too often male grad students are framed as: brilliant, deep thinkers, asking important questions, dedicated. Women and POC: Ok, but struggling in certain areas, room for improvement, not dedicated. This is inaccurate and a pervasive flaw in the system.

Academics: What’s your rule of thumb on media inquiries? I get a steady flow, which has mostly led to long conversations explaining complex issues without any return- I have yet to get quoted or acknowledged. How do you balance outreach vs wasting your time?

Absolutely terrible news out of Nicaragua... these raids, basically meant to push the Mayangna off their lands to exploit it for timber, gold, and ranching, is another blow to rights and the environment.

Just getting to this 2017 piece from 's Steve Vanderheiden on "Territorial Rights and Carbon Sinks." He raises some interesting points and its worth a read if you're interested in access, land tenure, and justice.

Fantastic read from ⁦⁩ “Now that hip-hop is no longer seen as a threat, the way it was when I was growing up in the ’80s and ’90s, it’s become the default ambiance in the kinds of high-end spaces that include few Black people."
