TLOU2 contains a trans man, who experiences a lot of violence as a result of being trans.
Where all other violence in this game of excessive violence fits the theme of "violence and revenge breed violence and revenge", this example does not.

The character is certainly not alone in experiencing violence, but his stands out as being there for shock value.
He doesn't experience violence because he inflicted it on others first and it's coming back on him. He experiences it for being a minority.

Don't know what else really to say about that. I love the character, I think he's wonderful and insightful and badass. I am glad he was voiced by a trans man.
But yeah, the violence he faces is not fitting with narrative themes, and his story fixates on his transness.

Just to quickly tag on at the end, the violence experienced by Ellie and Dina as LGBT characters feels different, largely because it's a response to their actions, not to who they are. It's not violence because they are LGBT, it's connected to the wider narrative themes.

I mean, he escapes the transphobic cult he's in, and finds love and support. There's no need for him to dive back in and face more transphobia. He could just, you know, be a part of the crew after that.

I found the Seraphites to be a really confusing religious cult. From observing them both in and away from their island, men and woman seem to be completely equal. Except this arbitrary fixed marriage and transphobia? Kinda seems entirely there for Abbys redemption arc.

It just hurts. All cuz he's trans. Some haters of this game hate on Abby cuz they think SHE was the trans character. It sickened me
