I got so annoyed by that earlier omg
Played a bit of Animal Crossing this evening. I know everyone's big gripe about the game hitting April is the fact there's eggs every time you try to fish, but for me the bigger annoyance is how those big new water bugs make it harder to tarantula hunt on any island with rivers.

I find it so bizarre that you can't seem to scare them away at all. Running by the river and pole-vaulting over them does nothing. Surely that has to be a bug (no pun intended), right?

I'm more annoyed by their spawn rate than their lack of running away. They're easy enough to catch and worth enough that if they just stayed away a little longer I'd be fine with needing a net more just to get rid of them.

yeah, big woodlouse things swimming atop the water. You catch them with a bug net not a fishing line. They don't scare when you run or jump over them. have to catch them all, and they're tricky.

can't help with the bugs but using fishfood guarrantees fish

oh for sure, which is a relief I suppose, but it's an additional step to prep, and removes some of the casual nature of a quick unplanned fish

ive heard (not sure tho) that setting up a rancho farm on a bamboo island helps with this since bamboo islands dont have any rivers

oh for sure, the issue being it's hard to guarentee getting that island. It used to be any flar island would do. Annoyingly I got a bamboo island tonight, and accidently left it while asking the pilot for a new net haha
