“Hey, girl! It’s me! The person who hasn’t reached out or spoken to you, at all, in 3+ years! How do I get into VO? Btw heard that you’re in casting now! Congrats! I know we have never been close but I’d love to network with you now!”

So, say a former peer ends up in the industry as well. What's the appropriate move? Do you say nothing? Do you reach out and try to connect and share experiences? I understand not wanting to dress it up as something it's not but is it better to just keep to yourself or reach out?

It's hard to express in a tweet, but a teacher of mine once said "If you think it, we will hear it." There's a difference between a Highschool friend hearing your work and reaching out to catch up, and getting a message 20 min after an announcement or audition email has gone out.
