Even when this tactic works, and you get the audition and you book the part, it really doesn't generate any good will between you and the person you're trying to ingratiate yourself with.

So, say a former peer ends up in the industry as well. What's the appropriate move? Do you say nothing? Do you reach out and try to connect and share experiences? I understand not wanting to dress it up as something it's not but is it better to just keep to yourself or reach out?
