Noise cancelation technology. Likely engineered to listen for sounds in the frequency range that the human voice sits in and nothing else. And it's probably smart enough to have some degree of adaptability with that, too. But I guarantee it's filtering out some stuff it shouldn't

Yeah I could hear a slight difference through my phone speaker, and like I said wouldn't be useful for broadcast, but for auditions it could battle the dreaded leafblower/construction/etc for auditions. And fantastic for streaming.
