Been wrestling w/ this holiday system myself. Spring is hard because winter isn't that short (in Chicago) but Easter moves. Maybe Spring is when the Shamrock shake comes back? Or Spring is "Whenever people wear shorts and BBQ even though it would otherwise be too cold for either"

In Canada it’s Victoria Day to Labour Day, but Victoria Day is a week earlier and we are farther north ... how does that work?

True in the Southern states, but one correction to make it work for the rest of the country: winter is from Christmas to St Patrick's day.
