At the risk of sounding like the shit stirrer that I am;
What do you guys think about circumcisions? Would you circumcise your male children in the future? Do you think it's necessary or abominable ?

Tbh I feel like if you feel strongly about not circumcising your child that’s ok as long as you teach proper hygiene etc. because if not increased risk of UTIs, STIs and also even penile cancers. Also as men are the main people who spread HPV

Cause they aren’t as frequently vaccinated as girls are for HPV this can increase a woman’s risk for cervical cancer as it will be more likely to contract in these cases. Also something called phimosis can happen in boys this is when the foreskin contracts

And can’t be pulled back and it’s been shown to be a RF for penile cancer. Even though this doesn’t happen so often it’s still possible. I know someone who it happened to. So you never know. Tbh I’ll be circumcising my kids but that’s more for cultural reasons.

What are the cultural reasons, if you don't mind me asking? I'm not sure why Nigerians do it tbh, I just know its biblical as well.

Lool just asked my dad about circumcision in Igbo culture and apparently it’s something that’s been done traditionally too also on the 8th day
