    For those who keep telling parents to be calm about their kids and Covid because they won't get v. sick, do you know that THEIR DAYCARE/CLASS COULD BE CLOSED FOR 10 DAYS? I'd like for you to be breezy about working from home w/a child who isn't sick for 10 days, multiple times.

    To my marginalized folks: Please don't feel obligated to read all the activision/blizzard stuff. Don't feel guilty for muting phrases or getting off twitter. It's gonna be a lot of performative allyship & finger wagging at the studio that got "caught". Healing happens elsewhere.

    It’s why exists - & I am always learning how to be a better leader - but also: I exhaust myself working to do all I can to advocate for change across the board. I used to say that “games deserve better” but no what I mean is WE as marginalized folks deserve better.

    … given what this industry IS. what kind of environments they’re entering. (and, it’s not just a AAA problem btw.) it’s not a pipeline issue. we need structural change, we need unions, and I don’t have all the answers other than effecting what change I can in my small corner.

    this is nothing but a grappling-with-this myself tweet, so take it as that, but: a large part of what i do in life, be it as a professor, or as a ambassador, is helping (marginalized) folks get into the industry. i realized a long while ago how problematic this is

    Yeah, it's both - we are less likely to step up and try to get capital ( is way better than I am on a YOLO pitch) but we are also more likely to be told that we aren't ready for whatever reason, which makes seeking capital seem like a waste of time.

    2/ I've been both a founder and investor, so I've experienced how the system is stacked against women. Ultimately, we need to change the dominant culture that enforces this paradigm. Sadly couldn't say this all in 1 tweet!
