I kinda feel like this is a phase most artists go through, being overly protective of your art and how 'original' it is. I remember back in middle school plastering huge watermarks all over my primitive art, fearing someone was gonna steal it an my ideas. No one wanted that bro.
For a while a lot of people said a game I'm working on looked a lot like Wonder Boy. I never played or seen any of the series, but I finaly gave it a try and yeah I can kinda see why. Also Wonder Boy games are really fun and exploring it is giving me more inspiration.
