Yeah, I'm not saying the system is perfect, I've even been hit with wrong DMCAs and claims. Though, just about the only way they can get some kind of consequence is to pay to bring them to court, that is true for just about any wrong thing someone can do. Most people get- 1/2
-away with it because the content creators can't afford to sue, more than courts failing to reprimand. @leonardjfrench has covered some cases that has, like Hoss v. h3h3, and they were not cheap.
There has been some pushes for reform to make things better but nothing yet. 2/2
That's actually how Leonard French and I met. I was hit with a "trademark strike" as opposed to a copyright one, and he took a look at it pro-bono when the claimant refused to even respond to me.
