basically; all i'm seeing in the replies to that game is "Cuphead clone. Lazy." That's not criticism, that's just being dismissive. I think there is legit quality that could be put in a better direction here. But it's funnier to make fun of an indie game right?
I'm mostly caught up on how not lazy it is with all the art & polish, but still how uninspired it is. It seems to bring little new to what CH did, and the comparison is unavoidable. CH is only 2 years old, it does not need a spiritual successor yet, as it's not a dead franchise.
They are asking for funding for it and I feel like such a blatant copy should not be supported, which is a shame as it has some cool things. If they used the art in an RPG, gameplay without the same look, or were not selling it it would be different, but it's a copy at it's core.
I will not lie; i didnt even register the fact they are trying to do a kickstarter for it. I think that's fair criticism.
