The same thing happened to the recent M&L remake, such a shame, the changes in art style really made the games feel special.

I'm glad for those remakes they at least kept the original enemy designs untouched, but they did homogenize a lot of the generic Mario enemies, which, to be fair to them, is moreso not that they were unwilling to but its the fourth game they made with the same art style
