I'm sure there's a way to keep it from doing this, but my problem with illustrator is the way it auto corrects a line. It just makes everything look a little too clean and flat so i think it's a little unpleasant to look at. I realize this is the whole point of vector but still
I have no solid proof if it actually does, but I find Flash handles drawing lines a bit better, I tend to use it over Illustrator.

This is probably true. My brother is an animator and he likes to draw right in flash as well
