I have attended the funerals of fallen law enforcement officers across our state, and I take time to thank them every day for their dedicated service and sacrifice.

We proudly hang this very same American flag in Government House in their honor. To outlaw these American flags from being hung in county buildings by law enforcement officers is outrageous and unconscionable.

I strongly call on Mr. Elrich to immediately reverse this terrible decision and to apologize to the police and the citizens of Montgomery County.

Better yet, let’s erase all symbols. While we are at it, non-fiction books, colors, songs, words,I am illogically offended by all the letters prior to -day in the days of the week so every day should just be known as DAY. I’ll agree with the second half of your statement though

It’s a symbol of division. There is no thin blue line that protects “us” from “them”. This is just more of the same Jim Crow mentality.

Governor Hogan, you also have to view this from a different perspective. Not everyone is supportive of law enforcement due to their corrupt history in the U.S.A. Sure, some are heroes putting their lives at risk however, not everyone see it that way.

That’s every job, not just law enforcement. However people only care about law enforcement. What about the red flags in fire houses? They have these flags for military, nurses, corrections, dispatchers. List goes on. What’s your take on theirs?
