The pilot project runs 1/1/22 - 12/31/25. A CA resident who ages out program at 21 yo during 2022, regardless of what age they entered shall be eligible for the program & receive UBI of $1k/mo for 3 years. All for helping folks get on their feet, but what are we doing…

… beyond this to help them learn to manage money & train them for job & life skills so they can become self-sufficient once the UBI program ends? If the answer is nothing, this is half-baked & not helpful.

This is fantastic! Many of the unhoused people we see around SF are youth who have aged out of services. Hopefully this will help keep them housed which makes a nicer San Francisco for us all to enjoy together.

What about our vets. What about moms coming out of divorce court where the lawyers took their belongings.
-
Kids age out of foster because they disappeared their moms. True facts.

In 1989, at the age of 16 I was kicked out of my abusive home and made homeless/unhoused for the first time. Larkin Street Youth Center & Diamond Shelter kept me alive. This cash program should be made permanent alongside free housing w/no stipulations for ALL homeless youth.

What are the expectations of the youth? Any work or other requirements?
-
The only requirement is that they vote democrat if they want their checks.
