  2. I get why we haven’t solved Alzheimer’s yet, or cancer. I don’t get why an issue as incredibly common and relatively straightforward as menopause is still so poorly understood and treated. They really do lose interest in us as a sex once we’re past childbearing.

  3. The poor quality of the information is another issue. Most of the sources I’ve looked at discussing HRT best practices make no mention of treatment in the perimenopausal period. A woman can experience debilitating symptoms for a decade or more before she reaches true menopause!

  4. Is effect on his domestic obligations mentioned first when we discuss complaints common to men? Are they usually mentioned AT ALL? I realize they’re explaining why these issues are significant and require treatment, but shouldn’t a woman’s individual quality of life be enough?

  5. And this: “... on average, women spend nearly one-third of their lives being postmenopausal. This has resulted in more women being adversely affected by symptoms of their menopause often to the detriment of their families, work, and life in general.”

  6. Yes, because we absolutely FALL APART when our teenagers leave home. Also, our twenties and thirties were a breeze! No one died, we never got dumped, & the job market was our own personal Candyland. They’re sad to see us age, so they assume we’re miserable over it, too. Not so.

  7. “It can be difficult to distinguish the hormonally based symptoms of perimenopause from more general changes due to aging or common midlife events — such as children leaving home, changes in relationships or careers, or the death or illness of parents.”

  8. Sexism in how women’s health texts are written is really infuriating sometimes. For example, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve read that scientists aren’t sure if peri/menopause mood symptoms are truly physiological or due to the kids leaving home. FFS. Idiots.

  10. Women are being very effectively trained to push down their instinctive responses and disregard their own dignity for the sake of male self-actualization. We must never stop ourselves from knowing what we know and feeling what we feel.

  11. Can you blame him? If just ANYONE can call themselves a democrat, the party’s collective power can be usurped by interests it doesn’t share! I can certainly understand such objections. Someone didn’t call themself a democrat until they wanted something from you? Must be so hard.

  12. Omg! After his trans pandering, Biden has come after Sanders for “self-identifying as a democratic socialist.” You can apparently self-identify as a woman, no problem, but “democrat” is supposed to MEAN SOMETHING.

  16. The damndest thing about making this list is how much it makes me miss my wacky pseudo-gay friends. They’re ridiculous, and I loved them, and I’m not welcome around them anymore. You can be a lot of things to hang with the Q crowd, but not GC. Never, ever that.

It speaks volumes about what society is doing to its children when young 13 year old girls have to resort to legal action to protect themselves and their peers from those adults who write the safeguarding policies...
