You really should be using MFA on, at the very least, your primary email acct. Think about everything tied to that account. Now think bout what could happen if someone else has access to that acct.

For sure! So MFA=multi-factor authentication; most common form is 2FA (2-factor). The premise is that logging in w/ only a PW is less secure than using MFA. So to be extra cautious you setup MFA which most commonly uses TOTP (time-based one-time password). 1/X

W/ MFA, you 1) login with username + password. Then your service goes: okay, but whats your TOTP? So 2) Using your MFA of choice (more on that later), you retrieve your TOTP, enter it, and then your service goes
. I use MFA because in some instances (rarely?) 2/X1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -

It can be MORE than 2-factor, but I would say majority of the time it's just the two: username + password, and then the TOTP. I personally use Authy. Google Authenticator & Microsoft Authenticator are popular too; Duo is popular too, but I feel that's more enterprise-ish. 3/4

I recommend MFA for primary email bc 1) it's that added layer of security and 2) Most people connect *everything* to their primary email: banks, social media, gaming, etc. If they can get into your email, you're screwed
and we always think it'll never happen to us. 4/41 reply 0 retweets 1 like -

Love it. I take security more seriously I feel, so I do authorize 2-factor authentification BUT I also feel discomfort knowing these companies have info like my phone #. I know that it makes no sense since I have a phone anyway but its a hard thing to swallow. I use a pw manager.

Also my passwords be crazy
LastPass makes it really convenient to have crazy pw's. I admit its not 2-factor across the board, but all the companies that collect lots of my info I take more precautions with. Sym for your explanation!
