Remember there’s a difference between “science” and “Science” and we need to continue to untangle the critical process of observation that exists in ALL human cultures, and the militaristic institution of capitalism that’s inherent specifically to US and colonial western culture.

Yes! And a persistent troubling of the narrative that colonization via US/western exceptionalism and moral objectivity is both normalizes and justified due to its “inventing” science.

It's disgusting. I was so brainwashed before as a "neni scientist to be". I've been reading up on that whole "objectivity in science" argument from some great articles and papers. The deconstruction of what I had known was pretty traumatizing.

Even gynecology for example, we owe to Black women. What else is out there that has been glossed over as "for science"? Ugh. I hate it here but I LOVE us in this space!

If you have any recommendations for those articles and papers lemme know I read a lot from the history of science/social science perspective but would be interested in seeing the perspective from the other side
