Sorry for hijacking your tweet with rhetoricals lol. As somebody who had three jobs dependant on the tourism industry last year, I'm just bitter at how much the community & islands relying on tourism don't see much of that $$ (and they make LOTS). Our environment deserves better.

Don’t be sorry at all! I remember starting a job rooted in tourism a few years ago, and so it’s been sobering to see how unstable it actually is. It’s honestly made me question whether I chose the right path.

I look at how all the hotels and attractions down in Tumon have had to lower their prices and it just enforces this notion that those businesses are not for us. Not everyone can reap the benefits of tourism. It’s this weird juxtaposition of how divided we are

And I agree with your last point. It feels like we all have to carry the burden of maintaining this crop that only a few key players get to harvest from. And now suddenly there’s not enough food to go around. (Sorry my brain thinks mainly in analogies lol)
