I got Refaluwasch people as my ancestors too! Wow. I love it here. I was so ignorant to so much of their culture while I lived on Saipan. After leaving, I realized their culture is as much a part of home as mine. When I'm homesick, I cry when I hear their music & see the dances.

Now I know with so much certainty. "They" are me. I don't claim the heritage, obviously, because that would be disrespectful to lay claim to what doesn't claim me, but now I feel even more strongly about certain things I have always thought about.

Oh yah Seman is a Refaluwasch last name no?
-
I was never sure tbh. All my Seman side are unknown to me for the most part. I grew up with my Dad's family, a few of whom were snobby purists and now I'm realizing perhaps another reason why they disliked my Mom and my siblings so much.
